Excerpt from the Dove....
From the desk of Mrs. Angstadt
Dear Families and Friends,
As we begin to wind down this school year, I would like to thank all of our faculty and parents who played an active role in our school accreditation process this year. Not only did we receive full accreditation, but we also introduced exciting academic programs that engaged both students and parents. POPapalooza and Writers Café were exciting adventures!
Yesterday I had the privilege of attending the First Eucharist Mass with our second grade students. It was a blessing to be present as they received the Body and Blood of Christ for the first time. Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Wix are to be commended for their dedication as they prepared our students for this sacrament.
We will conclude our 10th year celebrating our 8th grade grqduates. Please join me in congratulating: Philip Badewa, Zachary Boohaker, Nalo Bowman, Allison Carter, Haylee Dalton, Alana Davis, Sean Eaton, Jared Ferguson, Kira Ferslisi, Ian Hawley, Ben Hedden, Nicholas Higdon, Devin Hill, Harrison Hinkle, Nicholas Lockert, Madison Lorino, Molly Machado, Jessica McElderry, Kylie Mimmaugh, Ashley Montana, Justin Moore, Hope Runyan, Rhett Peterson, and Patrick Werszner. Our graduates will be armed with a solid academic foundation and the gift of a strong faith to assist them in meeting the challenges of high school. Please keep them in your prayers as they prepare to begin their next journey.
Our school family wishes to extend a heartfelt farewell to several teachers this year. Mrs. Julie Laney and her husband will be moving to Atlanta where she will continue her teaching career in Catholic Schools, Mrs. Kristi Braud will become a full time Mom this summer and Lisa Hawley will begin a new career in the health industry. Our school is a better place because of the them. They have made a lasting impression on our children and our hearts.
This summer our faculty will continue to grow through Professional Development. Before we return this fall our teachers will have the opportunity to attend multiple workshops. Teachers will be engaged in Reading, Math, Preschool Literacy, Bullying, and Writing workshops. In just a few short weeks we will install several Smart Boards and begin training teachers to integrate this next step in technology into their classrooms.
Remember, Prince of Peace School never closes its doors. We will be open this summer on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the summer. Please stop by if you have questions or concerns about the 10-11 school year. As our enrollment continues to grow, we will be here planning for the needs of all of our children. POP School continues to thrive due to the never-ending support of our Pastor, Parish and all of our POP families. May each of you have a safe and blessed summer.
Blessings,
Connie Angstadt
