PLANNING ON ATTENDING JOHN CARROLL CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL

The Prince of Peace Knights of Columbus established this scholarship six years ago to honor Patrick Francis Werszner, who passed away on September 6, 2015, at the age of 19. Patrick was a member of the POP Knights of Columbus Council 11537, a 2010 graduate of Prince of Peace Catholic School, a 2014 graduate of John Carroll Catholic High School, a student at UAB and a member of both Prince of Peace Catholic Church and St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Chapel at the time of his death.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

The Knights of Columbus is a well-known Catholic men's fraternal organization that serves our church and school community. Financial products for members and their family are also offered. The Prince of Peace Council #11537 provides men of our parish (starting at 18 years old) the opportunity to grow in their Catholic faith as they participate in the four degrees of the organization. The Council’s events and charitable outreaches offer many different ways to serve both our parish and community.

The Knights of columbus are involved in numerous charitable events and efforts within the parish as well as the community.

In the last decade the knights of columbus has donated over $1.5 billion and nearly 700 million hours to volunteer efforts.

We are a unique “band of brothers” with shared values. Our local, national and global network allows us to accomplish so much more together than we could alone. The Knights of Columbus was founded to serve our parishes, our communities, and protect our families, and support each other in faith along our journey in life.

OUR FOURTH PRINCIPLE

As a 4th Degree Knight, you have a unique opportunity. The primary purpose of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus is to instill a love of country and impress the duties of citizenship. Its motto is Patriotism -- a patriotism enlightened and informed by religion. There is nearly 350,000 4th degree Knights worldwide serving in Patriotic Roles in Our Order.
